Working in the Northern Territory

The Northern Territory and ARRCS provide a working environment like no other. From tropical Darwin to the Central Desert – with stunning landscapes, starry skies, colourful sunsets and clear air – the Territory is a truly amazing place to live and work.

Working with ARRCS is like nothing you’ve ever done before. At ARRCS, you will find a unique opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives every day. It’s your chance to help people and communities be happier and healthier, working alongside representatives of sophisticated and strongly maintained Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, learning from them and about them.

We have dedicated people across our organisation, who work with compassion and enthusiasm. Our career opportunities are many and varied, from nursing and home care assistance, childcare and nutrition in schools. Our remote locations provide a unique and challenging experience, where you can develop multiple skills and tackle a range of clinical challenges.

What our people say

  • Avaisha’s story

I came to ARRCS through GTNT Institute of Skills and Training Australia where I completed my Certificate III in Individual Support. I currently work in Terrace Gardens’ memory support unit supporting our residents with more advanced stages of dementia. I love working on my feet and being able to build positive relationships with my residents, learning the resident’s individual needs and supporting them however they need. It’s hard work but I believe that other young people would enjoy being a care worker as it is a very fulfilling job. As an Indigenous person, I also believe having more First Nations staff would highly benefit our First Nations residents in aged care and I encourage more Indigenous people to apply.

  • Rachel Inglis

‘You can engage with people at a deeper level. You are able to develop a bond and a relationship, which is important to me. It’s more satisfying, more meaningful’
